posted on May 11th, 2009

Entrepreneur, business executive, and technologist - Naveen Jain is not only those, but also a doting family man to his three children.

These three are also the wards of his wife, Anu, whom he married in the late 1980s. She is a graduate of SUNY in New York and an MBA holder from Rutgers University in New Jersey. At present, she serves as the Vice President of Community Relations at her husband’s company, Intelius.

Naveen Jain launched Intelius in January 2003. The company runs background and criminal checks, sells caller IDs and identity theft protection tools, provides a people-search engine, and screens other companies’ employees and tenants, among many other intelligence services. With over eight million customers served already, Intellius is the 2006 winner of the American Business Award for Best New Company.

As the top executive for community relations, Anu Jain helps her husband with the company’s corporate responsibility programs. For one, she has encouraged Intelius employees into putting in volunteer time for nonprofit organizations, as long as they are eligible. At Intelius, such time rendered with nonprofits constitute paid leave.

In their community of Bellevue, Washington, the couple is known for their generous contributions to charities involving children and education. Naveen Jain has been reputed to support the causes of the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club, Indian American Education Foundation, Child Rights and You, Hopelink, Kindering Center, Overlake Service League, United Way of King County, and the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Presently, Naveen Jain is the chief executive officer of Intelius. Naveen Jain was formerly a group manager at The Microsoft Network. He holds an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, India, and a master’s degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from XLRI in Jamshedpur, India. He and his family reside in Washington.
