posted on June 16th, 2009

Snowboarders can anticipate to pay upwards of 18 percent more for ski trips this winter as ski companies reduce the number of ski vacations available.

Peak season trips will be particularly expensive however even at other times there may be less heavily discounted vacations.

Snowboarding operators report that with catered chalet operators reducing beds by as much as 22 per cent prices are unlikely to fall.

Demand is even now beyond the number of beds available during Feb half-term which for the 2nd consecutive year be on the same week for many the schools in Great Britain.

Price rises coupled with a slashing in the no. of ski holidays comes after what was a very fine winter season for skiers with deep snowfalls throughout the Alps.

With the collapse of the sterling against the euro wiped out profits leaving several smaller providers in debt.

Things look better for vacationers happy to holiday in January and Mar, as prices will cost about 12 % on average, in place of 27 percent for peak-season dates.

Airlines, Chamonix travel companies and lift companies recognize that they provide holiday makers reductions or deals. Organised holidaymakers will purchase as many essential extras ” such as ski passes and equipment rental ” in pounds sterling before they leave England.
