527Make Fuel Savings with an Electric Bicycle

posted on August 24th, 2009

Are you lacking exercise? It’s a common feeling - we all realize this, yet many things get in the way of doing exercise. We witness people packed into gymnasiums doing workouts, and consider : I must drive to the gym, pay up my gym member’s fee, then lift some weights. It seems like a lot of hassle, isn’t there something I can do that’s not going to blow my time - even something practical?

Then you may consider bicycling, as bicycling around is a superb means to get fit. You can cycle to the local shops or to work, so it’s very practical. It’s also cheap - there’s no petrol required and the maintenance are negligable. It’s also environmentally friendly. Oh, and it gets you into shape too!

But many people are loathe to get a push bike since it’s just TOO much effort. As crazy as that may sound, consider that they might live in a hilly location, be aged or have a particular ailment that make cycling too much effort for their capabilities. Also for a few individuals, it’s not realistic pedaling to their work since they will sweat too much because of the efforts of biking.

Now it’s time to introduce e-bikes, or electric bikes. Electric bikes allow you to give your legs a rest on the severe slopes merely by twisting your hand on the grip and allowing the electric motor kick in - pedalling is no longer required then. Then when you feel up to it, just let your legs take over. You get moderate exercise and fresh air without breaking a sweat. E-bikes are also money-saving to run needing only a daily battery re-charge if you cycle about 15 to 22 miles per day, although most people need only a couple of re-charges per week as they’re not doing this kind of mileage. If you need to carry your bike around, consider a lightweight aluminium e-bike.

Nowadays the actual cost of purchasing an electric bike have come right down in price, so you can find yourself saving a considerable amount of money on fuel, bus fares, gym memberships etc. by purchasing and on a regular basis using an electric bike.
